Jason Meckel is a native of Alpine, Texas. He is passionate about environmental, water, land, and world population management, as it relates to the over consumption and exploitation of the Earth’s natural resources.
His father moved the family to Oklahoma in order to find a better way of life. Jason calls his “home town” Guthrie. Home of the Blue Jays!
Jason enlisted in the Army in 1988 and later served in Desert Storm with the Infantry (1st Cavalry Division – 1/5 CAV). After his discharge, he attended college for several long years until he was commissioned in 1995 as a 2nd Lieutenant under the R.O.T.C. program. Jason continued his service in the capacity as a medical entomologist officer in the Army for over 20 years educating Soldiers of preventive measure techniques to combat vector-borne diseases to include: malaria, yellow fever, dengue, leishmaniasis, and other related arthropod borne diseases that often occur during times of military operations and occupation in foreign countries.
His educational background consists of the following: environmental science, public health with a concentration in epidemiology, and microbiology, immunology, and pathology.
Some of his hobbies are fly fishing, international traveling, amateur drone flying, Distributed Ledger (DLT) and Blockchain Technology. Some of his aspirations and ambitions include retirement in Latin America and procurement of a 40 ft sailing yacht so that he may sail the wild world blue!
