This spring I visited Mahncke Park Community Garden to give a little tour of this beautiful space in the heart of San Antonio, Texas. This is a project that myself, my family, and tons of good friends and neighbors started back in 2016. What started out as a simple idea then, has blossomed into a productive centerpiece for the community.
Many folks have come and gone throughout the years, and I have since moved to Mexico to help create collaborative spaces, but MPCG is stronger today than it has ever been! It has more and more community participation each year, and continues to attract people from all walks of life.
When I return to the US, and my home neighborhood of Mahncke Park, I am so proud to see that the community takes care of, and continues to expand its creativity in this once abandoned lot.

Thank you to all of the wonderful people that spend countless hours working to preserve this space! I want to personally thank Ric Minks for his years of dedication, creativity, organization, and willingness to learn and teach day in and day out.
