CREA Fellows Visit Gardopia Gardens

In March 2025, our Coalition for Regenerative Ecologies and Agriculture (CREA) fellowship brought us to Gardopia Gardens in San Antonio, Texas, where we engaged with a vibrant model of urban agroecology and community empowerment. 

Guided by co-founder Dominic Dominguez, we explored how small-scale, neighborhood-based gardening can transform food deserts into hubs of health, education, and ecological renewal. Through hands-on learning and dialogue, we witnessed the power of localized food systems to foster resilience, cultural pride, and environmental justice. This visit reaffirmed our commitment to supporting grassroots leaders who are cultivating regenerative futures from the ground up.
