Terra Advocati congratulates board member Virginia Grise on winning the 2022 Herb Alpert Award in the Arts for Theatre! The award honors risk-taking artists “who are challenging and transforming art, their respective disciplines, and society.”
Virginia Grise was selected “for her urgent and probing drama, fluid poetic forms and mammoth undertakings; for her generous, spirit-fueled practice; and, as a cause and creature of community, for converting craft to kinship, wish to mandate, and verse to plan of action.” We are incredibly inspired by Virginia’s artistic practice, courage, and body of interdisciplinary work that spans multimedia performance, dance theatre, performance installations, guerilla theatre, site-specific interventions, and community gatherings. Thank you for your visionary work and for offering us spaces for collective dreaming.
